Terms of Use

Last updated: 20 April 2026

1. Acceptance

By downloading, installing, or using Odomo you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app. Odomo is operated by Chris Jackson (“we”, “us”), United Kingdom.

2. Licence

We grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use Odomo on any device you own or control, solely for your own mileage recording. You may not reverse-engineer, redistribute, or sell the app.

3. Pro unlock

Odomo is free to install. Additional features are unlocked by a one-off in-app purchase (“Odomo Pro”) processed by Apple or Google. The purchase is non-transferable between stores (a Play Store purchase does not unlock Pro in the App Store, and vice versa). Refunds are handled by Apple and Google under their respective policies — not by us directly.

4. Your responsibility for accuracy

Odomo records what your phone's GPS and motion sensors observe. Readings can be affected by signal loss, permission denials, battery optimisation, weather, and tunnels. You are responsible for reviewing your trip log before submitting it to HMRC or anyone else. We make no warranty as to completeness or accuracy of any trip, distance, or claim amount.

5. Not tax advice

Odomo is a record-keeping tool, not a regulated tax service. Default rates are the HMRC Approved Mileage Allowance Payment (AMAP) rates as published at the time of the app release; HMRC may update these at any time. If you are unsure what rates apply to you, consult a qualified accountant.

6. Location, Bluetooth, and battery

Automatic trip detection requires always-on background location access and (on Android) Bluetooth permissions. You can disable these in your phone's settings at any time. When disabled, automatic detection will stop working, but you can still record trips manually.

7. No warranty

Odomo is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we exclude all implied warranties, including fitness for a particular purpose.

8. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from or related to the app is limited to the amount you paid for Odomo Pro (if anything). We are not liable for indirect, consequential, special, or incidental damages, including lost tax claims or penalties.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under UK law.

9. Termination

You may stop using Odomo at any time by uninstalling the app. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms; in that case your Pro purchase remains non-refundable by us (though you may be entitled to a refund via Apple or Google).

10. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the latest revision. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
